Purpose: Provides Immigration and Legal Services provides low-cost (and in some cases, no-cost) legal counseling and representation for individuals who are unable to afford private lawyers for their immigration matters. ILS is a Recognized Organization, authorized by the U.S. Department of Justice to help immigrants with their immigration legal needs. ILS represents immigrants in the following types of cases:
· Family petitions
· Citizenship
· Abused immigrant women
· Immigrant victims of crime
· Refugee and asylee adjustment of status
· Deportation and Removal

Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program

Purpose: In addition to sponsoring the Pro Se Family Law Clinic, Debt Counseling Clinic, Legal Clinic for the Elderly, Mental Health Law Clinic, and Wills Clinic, the Dallas Volunteer Attorney program provides telephone referral of low-income individuals to volunteer attorneys who provide free legal services. Applicants must be Dallas County residents. Training, support and malpractice insurance are offered to participating attorneys.

Purpose: Conducts evening clinics and provides legal representation for low-income applicants with problems in civil law matters, including family, bankruptcy, housing, consumer, employment termination and wage claims, guardianships, wills, and small estates. Clinics are held at the Martin Luther King Center -- South Dallas; Grace United Methodist Church -- East Dallas; Marillac Social Center -- West Dallas; and the Garland Legal Clinic (Salvation Army).

DBA Speakers Committee
Purpose: Receives requests from groups, organizations and classes for information on law-related topics and provides lawyers to speak to the requesting group.

Dispute Mediation Services, Inc.

Purpose:Assistance is offered in resolving a wide range of disputes in non-criminal matters from family problems to business problems. Trained mediators assist parties in finding mutually agreeable solutions. Fees range from $10 per party in individually referred cases to $50 per party in court referred cases.

Fathers for Equal Rights Inc.

Purpose: Fathers For Equal Rights is a 30 year old organization helping fathers, families and children of Dallas. They have 14 attorneys who hold individual sessions for members in our offices everyday. There is also a general information meeting held every Thursday night (except holidays) at 7:00 p.m. and is open to the public. Service is provided without regard to gender.

Homeless Law Project - Legal Services of North Texas

Housing Crisis Center

The Family Place
