Assisted Divorce Clinics
DVAP sponsors four Pro Se or Assisted Divorce Clinics each month, serving both the English and Spanish-speaking communities in Dallas. Staff and volunteers help low-income clients prepare their uncontested family law cases through a series of instructional clinics. Clients must attend one to three clinics, depending on the issues in their cases. All clinics are held at the DVAP office. At the final clinic, a judge will hold court at the DVAP office and a volunteer attorney will finalize their cases. The Assisted Divorce Clinic is an innovative program that utilizes volunteer attorneys to provide assistance to large groups of people who would otherwise go without help because of the high demand for assistance in the family law area.
Individuals seeking assistance should apply for help at one of DVAP's Neighborhood Legal Clinics.
